The API Tap Water Purifier is the easiest and most economical way to produce pure deionized water for your aquarium. Unlike many other methods available today for purifying tap water the API Tap Water Purifier removes all impurities from tap water. This includes dissolved solids such as calcium, magnesium, chloride, fluoride and many others. It will also remove heavy metals such as lead and copper plus organic pollutants including nitrate, ammonia and phosphate.
The filter easily hooks up to any faucet with the handy included adaptor and tubes. Tap water travels from the faucet into the bottom of the filter and works its way through the filter cartridge and out the top through another tube and then into your container. The filter will produce 25 to 125 gallons of pure deionized water per cartridge. Volume of purified water is dependent on the amount of pollutants that must be removed by the cartridge from the tap water. The cartridge will change color as it is used up insuring you don't overuse a cartridge.
The Tap Water Purifier works with Saltwater and Freshwater aquariums and is especially valuable for Reef hobbyists. If you have already invested in another system such as Reverse Osmosis, the unit can be used as a secondary filter with the other system to remove the leftover pollutants such as nitrate. Once the water has been purified then use the included Electro-Right to add back the perfect balance of hydrominerals and the pH adjuster to raise the pH to the proper level for your species specific or community aquarium.
